Gary Johnson appeals to Ron Paul supporters (Video)
Libertarian Presidential candidate, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson came to Tampa, Florida Saturday to speak to a group of like-minded people seeking support for his presidential candidacy.
On Saturday, Johnson made his appeal to Ron Paul supporters at the PAUL Festival at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
He continued by saying, “Ron Paul asked me for my endorsement in 2008, and I readily gave him my endorsement”.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd, many libertarians, Johnson laid out his message, a very familiar one to the Liberty Movement- Let’s stop the spending, let’s end the wars, let’s abide by the Constitution of the United States.
Johnson reminds the rambunctious crowd that only the Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians will be on the ballot in all 50 states.
He contrasts himself to President Obama and Governor Romney with the following policy planks:
Gov. Johnson states, “I’ll be the only candidate that wants to stop foreign aid,
I’ll be the only candidate that does not want to bomb Iran,
I’ll be the only candidate that wants to get out of Afghanistan now,
I’ll be the only candidate that wants to repeal the Patriot Act,
I’ll be the only candidate that wants to end the drug wars,
I’ll be the only candidate talking about marriage equality from the standpoint of it being a constitutionally guaranteed right,
I’ll be the only candidate talking about balancing the federal budget now,
I’ll be the only candidate that wants to abolish the IRS”.
Johnson then brought the house down when he said, “I’ll be the only candidate that would sign legislation to abolish the Federal Reserve”.
He then proceeds to shout, “It’s a rigged game, it’s a rigged game!”
In addition, right out of the Dr. Paul handbook, Johnson said he would repeal legal tender laws and sign legislation allowing for competing currencies.
In his appeal to win over Paul supporters, Johnson reminds the crowd that it takes 15% to get into the Presidential debates and without Johnson in the debates, the above, vital issues will never be addressed.
In closing, the governor simply said thank you to Dr. Ron Paul.
Seems he won over some…
