‘Game of Thrones’ star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau cast as Egyptian God Horus in ‘Gods of Egypt’

As HBO’s Game of Thrones heads towards the third season finale, star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been cast in Gods in Egypt.

Nikolaj Coster-WaldauThe Wrap reports Coster-Waldau is currently in talks to join Summit Entertainment’s Gods of Egypt, the new epic fantasy from director Alex Proyas, director of Dark City and The Crow.

Fans are likely to see actor of Coster-Waldau’s build to be a perfect fit for a film about Egyptian Gods.

The film will be set in ancient Egypt — pyramids, sphinxes and legendary gods. Coster-Waldau would play sky god Horus, who joins Hathor, the goddess of love, and a human thief on a quest to avenge the death of Osiris, his father.

The Danish actor most recently star in  Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion and Andrés Muschietti’s Mama this year. He is also starring in a small role as a cheating bastard in Nick Cassavetes’ The Other Woman opposite Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, which will be coming soon.

No release date has been set for Gods of Egypt, so stay tuned for more details.
