Gal Gadot quiet on ‘Wonder Woman’ ‘Batman v Superman’ at Israel gala

Former Miss Israel Gal Gadot first hit the U.S. film scene when she landed the role of Gisele Yashar in the Fast & Furious, but will hit the big time with her upcoming role as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

While at the Times of Israel Gala on Sunday evening, Gadot was quiet on details regarding the film or the standalone Wonder Woman project which will follow.

“I wish I could [share details] but unfortunately I can’t,” Gadot said with a smile, adding that all information about the role was being kept hushed up.

“I’m very honored to be here,” she said of the “Best of Israel” event. “I am very thrilled to be back in New York and I am very, very grateful to be around these people.”

Other honorees included Former Israeli President Shimon Peres and Israeli singer Miri Mesika. Gadot said the highlight of the evening would be sitting at the same table as Peres.

The evening was not tarnished by the anti-Semitism outside as protesters chanted “Free Free Palestine” and called the Jews “murderers.”

“The thing with me is that I really wish that everything will work out and that people will be able to live together peacefully, in harmony… Not just in Israel but all over the world.”

Directed by Zack Snyder, the sequel to Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gadot, Amy Adams, Scoot McNairy, Laurence Fishburne, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Jesse Eisenberg.

Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on March 23, 2016.

Gadot will appear on November 10, 2017 in Justice League Part One.

Wonder Woman has a June 23, 2017 release date, and is being produced by Charles Roven (The Dark Night Rises), Zack Snyder, and Deborah Snyder (Man of Steel) with Michelle MacLaren attached to direct.
