‘Fraser’ star Kelsey Grammer cast as the ‘human’ villain in ‘Transformers 4’

Fraser star Kelsey Grammer will be a big part in one of next summer’s blockbusters, Transformers 4 (just a working title to be sure.)

Deadline reports in a May 1 article that the TV star has landed the key villain role in Michael Bay’s next Transformers film. Grammer will be playing counter-intelligence operative named Harold Attinger, a human bad guy, and NOT a voice of any villainous Decepticons.

Transformers 4 bannerMark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor are set to star in the film which will center on “a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists [who] attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control—all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs.”

Grammer also stars in writer/director John Herzfeld’s drama Reach Me, which is expected to open later this year.  He’ll also be voicing the Tin Man in the 2014 animated release, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, lead by Lea Michele (Glee).

Transformers 4 is set to open in theaters on June 27, 2014.
