Former Obama Czar, CNN host Van Jones attacks whistleblower James O’Keefe ‘and his band of crazies’
President Obama’s former Green Czar and CNN host Van Jones fired back at James O’Keefe Thursday, calling the right-wing provocateur “the kind of person from whom decent people run like the plague” in a column published on CNN.com.
“Serious question: Is anyone out there still gullible enough to fall for an edited, right-wing propaganda video — in 2017?” Jones begins in his article title “Much ado about nothing (burger)” refuting the bias presented against President Trump.
“…O’Keefe and his band of crazies are at it again. This time I am one of the targets. Yesterday, O’Keefe released a so-called ‘bombshell’ video of me, standing outside CNN’s Los Angeles bureau. I was answering a passerby’s question by saying: ‘The whole Russia thing is a big nothing-burger. There is nothing you can do –‘ before I was cut off by the arrival of my CNN coworkers. More on what I actually meant in a moment.”
The attack comes as O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released a shocking video of CNN producer John Bonifield followed by Jones appearing to justified the constant coverage of Russian collusion without any evidence.
Jones continues: “Did I mean that there is ‘nothing’ to the allegations that members of team Trump colluded with the Russians and then tried to cover it up by firing FBI Director James Comey? No — and far from it…But that’s not what I was talking about. I have been consistently pushing my fellow Democrats to deal with bread and butter issues — and not just hope and believe Trump will be impeached and gone tomorrow. I have been beating this drum for weeks now.”
The former Obama exec appears to still have an axe to grind, retreading the history: “His hoaxes are notoriously pathetic and embarrassing” pointing to the 2009-2010 videos of ACORN workers, trying to discredit O’Keefe for a “nuisance settlement” as though that discredits ANY of the allegations in those videos.
ACORN lost its federal funding as a result of the video.
“James O’Keefe and his distorted videos are just another weapon in Trump’s war on the truth. I don’t know what the antidote is for this kind of civic poison. But Trump’s biggest supporters, who claim to love both God and country, should demand better.”
