Florida woman, Amber Warner, arrested after ‘giving baby away’ at restaurant
Police say a woman just left her child behind at a restaurant in Vero Beach, Florida. Amber Warner has been arrested after trying dump the child Saturday morning at the Kountry Kitchen on Old Dixie Highway.
Warner, 31, walked into the restaurant, handed over her 2-year-old child to a couple saying “I can’t do it,” and left the kid on the floor and walked out.
Witnesses report that Warner then got in a truck and drove away. Police pulled the tag number and traced it down, leading to Warner’s home.

Officers arrested Warner on charges of unlawful desertion of a child. She received an additional charge of resisting arrest without violence for her behavior during the trip to jail.
The woman’s son is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
Eric MacPherson of CBS12 later tweeted that Warner was on drugs.

The 911 call details have been released:
“Yeah we just had some woman drop a little kid off,” the caller says to a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
The caller said the woman sat the boy down on the ground next to them.
“First mentioned she had found the child. Then their conversation moved forward and she mentioned, “She just couldn’t take it anymore,” said Vero Beach Police Chief David Currey.
But before the woman left, the caller got some key pieces of evidence.
“I have some pictures of the front of it and the side as she took off and tried to get the license number on the back,” said the caller.
“It pulls the heartstrings and you hate to see that. You’d like to see them reunited one day but if they can’t be and it’s best for the child that’s unfortunate but maybe at end of the day it’s what’s best for the child or children,” said Chief Currey.
