Florida teen, William Aydelott, charged with murdering his mother in brutal stabbing

A Christmas Eve murder left a popular Florida school teacher dead and now her son is being charged with her death.

William Brandon Aydelott, age 17, reportedly stabbed his mother multiple times, including a kitchen knife in the eye and then slit her throat before beating her with a baseball bat.

The State Attorney told the Pensacola News Journal that the 17-year-old will be tried as an adult when the case goes before a grand jury, the prosecution will try to get a first-degree premeditated murder indictment, the News Journal reported.

Ayedelott hadn’t lived with his mom Sharon Aydelott, of Gulf Breeze, since September, according to the Northwest Florida Daily News.

The popular teacher found with the kitchen knife still in her eye on Christmas Eve and blood smeared on the front door of her home. Aydelott was found at a nearby house three hours later, the NWF Daily News reports. His clothing was clean, but police found a spot of dried blood on his wrist.

A 911 tape released reveals it was Sharon Aydelott’s estranged husband who found the brutal murder scene inside her home.

“Somebody is hurt real bad here though and I need somebody to get here as fast as they can get here please,” said William Randall Aydelott. The dispatcher tried to help him remain calm in front of his daughter. “Are you with them now?” “No, I’ve got my little girl and I’m trying to get her to the neighbor’s house.”
