Florida Libertarians organize Town Hall in Pinellas for Voter Education
The Libertarian Party of Pinellas County Executive Committee is honored to announce the continuation of their Town Hall Voter Education Series events with the School Board Candidate Forum being held on August 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. This forum will be held at the Pinellas Park Public Library located at 7770 52nd Street North in Pinellas Park, FL. All qualified candidates for School Board have been invited to attend and the response has been very encouraging. This forum is open to the public and has been promoted to voters throughout the county as an opportunity to educate themselves about the candidates who have made the commitment to ask for their support in the upcoming August 2014 election.
“One of the goals of the Libertarian Party of Pinellas County in 2014 is to inspire voters to learn more about all of their options on their ballot,” stated Karena Morrison, Chair of the LPPC, “and these forums were a natural fit for the LPPC to offer educational opportunities for many different races across Pinellas County. All too often, voters know little about the local candidates and they either don’t vote or they vote without being completely informed about all of their choices. Our goal is to provide educational forums where there isn’t an active Libertarian candidate and to offer the opportunity for all voters to engage with all of the qualified candidates in those races. We look forward to other community organizations offering open forum invitations to all of the qualified candidates in races where we do have active Libertarian candidates and will help promote those events to the voters as well.”
In addition to the School Board Candidate Forum, upcoming events in August will include County Commission and the Florida State House of Representatives candidates who wish to represent Pinellas County residents. All qualified candidates have been invited to participate, and the public is encouraged to attend these forums to have the opportunity to submit questions to the candidates.
