Florida Governor Race: Libertarian Adrian Wyllie targets both Rick Scott, Charlie Crist as AP media event

The Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Adrian Wyllie attended the AP media event in Tallahassee despite not being invited.

Using his chance to target the current and former governors: “I don’t know what was more entertaining to me, Rick Scott talking about his fiscal conservatism or Charlie Crist talking about ethics,” reports Sunshine State News.

Wyllie attacked the media for ignoring his candidacy and says he’s a serious candidate.

“The times are a-changing,” Wyllie said. “The paradigm is shifting.”

“We have a shot to win this race,” Wyllie said. “It’s a long shot, admittedly,” he said as he offered his stance on issues.

“I believe in the principles of economic freedom and personal liberty.”

Added with social issues and a detailed plan on less government intervention (cutting at least 30% in the budget) may help him get to the initial goal of 15% in polls.

“We can make a dramatic impact in this race,” he said, hitting both Crist and Scott as “progressive Republican governors.”

Democrat Nan Rich was also present, offering an alternative to Charlie Crist, saying she’s the only real democrat.

“The voters generally want new leadership and new direction for Florida,” Rich said.

“You can’t fool all the people all the time,” the Weston Democrat said, noting that Crist now was making excuses about his Republican days as a conservative Republican.

She also criticized Crist for not agreeing to debate her during their primary contest.

“It’s a way of educating the voters as to what the candidates think,” she said. “It’s about educating the people about the candidates. A way to find out where the candidates are on all the issues.”
