Florida governor candidate Adrian Wyllie departs from ‘Fix the Debt’ saying it’s about ‘political cover’
The Florida ‘Fix the Debt’ chapter was a group organizing leaders from all political parties to devise and enact “solutions to fix the debt.”

Adrian Wyllie gaining ground in the Florida race for governor? The most recent poll indicates “Yes”
One member, the Libertarian candidate for Florida Governor, announced he is exiting the committee saying “They would not recognize me. I was not heard” saying the group appears to be more interested in public relations that their mission.
“The leaders were providing talking points to the members on how the debt ceiling must be raised, and how we must be “smart” about raising it,” Adrian Wyllie details in his Oct. 17 press release, describing the debt ceiling discussions.
“…they were operating under the confident assumption that the debt ceiling would be raised. It was as if they knew it would happen via insider information. The not-so-subtle implied message was that we, the members, must spin it in the “right way” on their behalf.”
Co-chaired by University of Miami President Donna Shalala and former Senator Mel Martinez, the ‘Fix the Debt’ steering committee “will mobilize key communities-including leaders from business, government, and policy-and people all across America who want to see elected officials step up to solve our nation’s fiscal challenges.”
Wyllie’s experiences paint a different picture.
“Their purpose is to give political cover to Congress for their fiscal transgressions against the American people; and to encourage political leaders, community leaders, and business leaders to drink the Kool Aid and disseminate the propaganda…Therefore, I hereby immediately and publicly resign from Fix the Debt.”
