Five-month-old baby found dead inside a parked SUV in Carson, California
A five-month-old infant was pronounced dead after the father left him strapped in a car seat in his Chevy SUV, parked outside in the driveway of his home. The tragedy unfolded on Monday, Sept. 9 at around 3.20 p.m. in 19000 block of Cliveden Avenue in the city of Carson, California.
Police report that the father “accidently” forgot the baby as he parked the car in the driveway. Later, he left the house for some other work in a different car. It was only when the father realized that he may have forgotten the baby in the locked vehicle, he called the police.
The police and the paramedics rushed to the scene and broke the rear window of the car to rescue the infant; however, it was too late. CPR was administered, but the baby was dead, officials said.
Although, the parents of the infant, who are married and have five to six other kids are being questioned, the officials believe that “no foul play was involved.”
Lt. Dave Coleman of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau told reporters that, “Unless something very glaring comes out during the course of the investigation … it seems to be just a very, very tragic incident.”
