First ‘Minions’ poster confirms 2015 release date
A new Star Wars film, an Avengers sequel – sure, 2015 has a lot to offer, but don’t lose sight of those little yellow troublemakers from Despicable Me who get their own film in 2015.
Minions will indeed arrive next year and a new poster released on Monday teases the film with those lovable characters. Check it out below.
Sandra Bullock will voice a villain named Scarlett Overkill (“most villainous person in the ’60s” notes Movie Fanatic) in a story set up as an origin story and likely result in the introduction of Gru as their “employer.”
Universal was so happy with the July 2013 release date for Illumination’s Despicable Me 2 that it decided to open Minions in roughly the same corridor according to a previous report.
Despicable 2, debuting on July 2, has grossed a staggering $970.7 million at the global box office with the first film earning over $543 million.
The film stars Bullock, Jon Hamm and Steve Carell returning for a Gru appearance. Hiroyuki Sanada (Helix, The Wolverine, 47 Ronin) will play a “Sumo Villain” and creator Chris Renaud is expected be providing the “voices” of the Minions.
Minions will arrive in theaters July 10, 2015.
