First look Idris Elba with cast on ‘Star Trek Beyond’
Fans are getting a ton of details surrounding Star Trek Beyond, despite not being a part of SDCC. The Enterprise crew sets out on their five-year mission with stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto confirmed for Star Trek 4 and a new clip puts Idris Elba with the cast.
Elba has been cast to play the main villain Beyond, but details are being kept closely guarded. Elba will likely not play a Klingon, but instead, a new character – Based on the countless interviews that date back to the promotion of Star Trek : Into Darkness.
The 42-year-old Brit puts on some impressive moves as he does the running man and spins on the floor in Star Trek: To Boldly Go which is a new campaign supporting the Star Trek Beyond cast’s personal selection of nine global charities.
The whole Star Trek cast features in the fun video, including Pine, Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and John Cho.Elba’s surprise appearance half way through is causing the greatest stir as the Luther star also stands out in casual cargo shorts, t-shirt and espadrilles.
All donations from fans to the charity initiative will enter them into a prize draw to win a walk-on role in the new Star Trek movie. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be split equally between the participating charities.
Star Trek Beyond arrives next summer on July 8, 2016.
