Fireball shot mom: Patricia Jackson-Denault arrested after Facebook photo evidence
A Florida woman was arrested for posting a controversial picture to Facebook depicting her drinking with her children. Jackson-Denault was arrested and charged with child neglect.
Patricia Jackson-Denault, 37, was arrested after police were notified that she posted a picture to Facebook showing her consuming alcohol with children.
Police were notified and went to her home. When they arrived, Jackson-Denault admitted to serving alcohol to underage kids, police said.
The Longwood, Florida woman said she was drinking Fireball shots when her son asked if he could try it so she let him take a sip of it, according to a police report. She said she also let her son take Jell-O shots on the holidays. The report did not say how old the kids were.
“(The officer) asked Patricia if she thought that it was acceptable to allow (the child) to drink alcohol,” the report said. “Patricia stated that (the child) wanted to experience it, in a controlled environment. Patricia stated that she thought it was funny.”
“A prudent person would understand that providing alcohol to young children could have a damaging effect on their well being,” the officer wrote in the report.
She then posted a photo of the child on Facebook with the title “first shot” with a bottle of the Fireball next to the child.
“I would almost say it is stupid,” said Officer Kevin Tuck with the Longwood Police Department.
“They clicked on there and definitely there were photos that were incriminating for giving alcohol to their child,” Tuck said of finding the photos on Facebook.
“I don’t think it was criminal; I didn’t think it was criminal, so it’s frustrating” Jackson-Denault said. At one point she says “Me taking a picture and putting it on Facebook, I thought it was funny…”
