Filipino comedian, Tado Jimenez among the dead in bus accident, condolences pour in on social media
A bus carrying 45, that plunged off a mountain road in the northern Philippines town of Bontoc into deep ravine , resulted in the loss of life of 14 passengers Friday, according to numerous news reports from Philippine media.
Among the fatalities included two foreign nationals from Canada and the Netherlands and a Filipino comedian who appeared in several TV shows like “Masayang Tanghali Bayan,” and “Happy Yipee Yehey!”, Arvin “Tado” Jimenez.
According to police, the dead have been identified as Arvin “Tado” Jimenez, Canadian Alex Loring, Dutch Adriana Van Deven, Marcial Baranda, Andrew David Sicam, Natividad Ngawa, Gerald Baja, Ana dela Cruz, Giovani Bam Murillo, Redentor De Lara, Leah Reyes, Emily Gentalian, Katrina Gozos, and Jonathan Patolot.
According to reports, Jimenez was identified through his driver’s license found in his wallet.
In a strange occurrence, just the day before the tragic accident, Jimenez posted a photo on his Instagram account with the caption, “North o South….cemetery?”
Soon after the news of Tado’s death, condolences and prayers poured on the various social media sites. On Jimenez’s Instagram site, countless “R.I.P” messages were posted.
“You will be remembered Mr. Jimenez.. #Tado #RIP” and “Im sad can you make me happy” is how the messages read.
A Facebook page, R.I.P. Tado Jimenez was opened Friday and currently has 1,590 “likes”.
According to the Department of Transportation and Communication, the initial cause of the Florida Bus line accident was mechanical error due to failure of brakes based on the investigation from the Bontoc police.
