Family Force 5, Derek Mount interview: talks Winter Jam, nicknames, ‘Chainsaw’ and football
Winter Jam 2015 ready to resume with the west coast leg of the tour and Family Force 5 is one of the ten bands on tour for this massive Christian music event. Derek Mount from FF5 spoke to us in an exclusive interview to preview the event, touring experience, making music and much more.
“It’s going to be awesome,” Derek says of touring ahead of Winter Jam. “We like to run around on stage,” he says of their set. “…go nuts and go bonkers” is how Derek describes the experience.
Winter Jam 2015 west coast features Skillet, For King & Country, Jamie Grace, Lincoln Brewster, Newsong, Love and the Outcome, OBB, Stars Go Dim, We Are Messengers, Sadie Robertson and speaker Tony Nolan.
“It’s a profound experience,” he says of Winter Jam and performing before believers, worshipping God. “It’s really encouraging” he says of the massive crowds and meeting believers all over the nation.
Fans love the nicknames and Derek gives a background look at the band, how each bandmember got their name and how they love to interact with fans – Derek is “Chap Stique” so learn why.
Family Force 5 has crossed between secular music and the Christian music scene and Derek talks about being “blessed” to do what God blessed him to do.
