Ezra Miller on Flash in ‘Batman v Superman’ casting, Patti Smith role model
The all-star cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will include a relative unknown actor as Flash. Ezra Miller was asked about the casting while at Sundance.
“Zack Snyder told me on the phone that he wanted me to play the Flash while I was eating a tilapia in a small Central American village. That was definitely a moment that prompted me to question the fabric of my reality.”
Miller, who is best known for his role in Perks Of Being A Wallflower and We Need to Talk About Kevin, was showcases as part of the THR Next Gen of Actors at Sundance. He talks about auditions, advice and downtime before revealing his role models.
“Patti Smith symbolizes the possibility that a performer who swims into the mainstream might both maintain their integrity and remain alive. So she’s one. David Bowie is another. Did you know he once performed an exorcism on his swimming pool? I’d like to emulate that!”
Miller is set to also star in the two-part Justice League films and a solo Flash film due in 2018.
Serving as the sequel to Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Scoot McNairy, Laurence Fishburne, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa and Jesse Eisenberg.
Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on March 25, 2016.
