Exclusive confirmation: White House denied security support for Benghazi attack
For a couple of weeks President Obama’s handling of the Benghazi attack, which left Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others dead, into question.
Two separate sources tell The Global Dispatch that the White House directly denied requests for additional security for the Stevens detail prior to the 9/11 attack and delayed response to the attack.
While Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stepped forward last week and assumed “full responsibility” for security leading up to the attack, the recent emails sent during the attack reveal that the State Department was not the only ones watching the live feed from the drone overhead.
Ed Klein appeared on the Andrew Wilkow show on Wednesday and detailed the tensions between the Clintons and the Obama administration. Klein asserts that Bill has called for Hillary to resign or reveal the documents which exonerate her from wrongdoings. (See VIDEO below)
Dispatch sources confirm and expand on Klein’s scenario that National Security advisor to the president of the United States Tom Donnellan presented the details of the attack, but we were turned away by the team of Valerie Jarrett (Senior Advisor to the President), David Axelrod (Top Political Advisor to the President) and the President himself.
Leon Panetta met with the President at 5pm on September 11th, but it’s unclear if the President personally viewed the attack which was happening in Libya at that time. Our sources confirm that the feed was being watched by staff at State, Langley and in the White House “situation room.” They also assert that Panetta’s “stonewalling” before Congress is part of the administration’s efforts to push this incident to after the election “by any and all means necessary.”
The Obama team never altered, nor had any intention of changing, their campaign itinerary on September 11 or the 12th (hence the trip to Vegas for the fundraiser.) Obama met with Hillary Clinton immediately following the Rose Garden speech on the 12th.
When asked about Klein’s assertions over the past few weeks about the Clintons fighting, Bill telling her to resign – the Dispatch sources said that “some of that has been public at State” but they’ve never witnessed anything personally. The consensus from both sources is that Hillary doesn’t want to “sabotage” or “destroy” the election bid, but “will NOT go down for(or with) the President.”
