Evangeline Lilly’s Tauriel shines in latest TV spot for ‘The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug’

tauriel new-character-posters-for-the-hobbit-the-desolation-of-smaugWarner Bros released a new TV spot for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug online, putting the spotlight on Evangeline Lilly’s newcomer, Tauriel.

Trading comments with Legolas (Orlando Bloom) the Elven warrior gets to take center stage and unleash her skills in the new film. Bantering over “whether the battle is theirs” has been seen before, but fans are increasingly excited over her expanded role in the new film.

Smaug will be voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, The Fifth Estate) but few details have been revealed about the dragon as the Peter Jackson inches closer.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and HFR on December 13th.

The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues theadventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
