Eriq La Salle to play villain in ‘Under the Dome’ season 3, directing one episode
Eriq La Salle has joined the cast of Under the Dome for its third season and is set to direct another episode during this season as well.
The ER alum, who previously directed a season 2 episode, will play Hektor Martin, a ruthless CEO of the energy company run by Barbie’s father. La Salle will also direct the ninth episode of the coming season, the EW report summarized.
Known primarliy for his role as Dr. Peter Benton, La Salle’s recent credits include CSI: Cyber, Night Shift and Madam Secretary.
Fans may get a more action-packed or CGI ladened third season since the show received greater budget as it received a $5 million grant from North Carolina.
Port City Daily reported: “The popular, locally shot CBS series, Under The Dome, is getting a boost of $5 million from a state grant. The grant, which was announced by N.C. Commerce Secretary John Skvarla and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. on Friday, is part of the newly established $10 million North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant.”
Under the Dome returns for its third season on Thursday, June 25 with a two-hour premiere.
Mike Vogel returns as Barbie, Brett Cullen as his aforementioned fahter, Dean Norris and Rachelle Lefevre rounding out the starring cast.
