Elena Anaya is NOT the main villain in ‘Wonder Woman’
Following up Suicide Squad will be Wonder Woman in the DC Cinematic Universe and fans still don’t know who the villain will be. One thing has been made clear, Elena Anaya’s character is no friend of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, but is not the featured antagonist.
Speaking with the Spanish website SensaCine, Anaya confirmed she plays a villain, just not the main one. Here’s her remarks via Batman News:
“Well, it was a small role in this big ensemble, but it is an important character in the story. It’s directed by Patty Jenkins, then there’s Gal Gadot as our main lead, Chris Pine as her co-lead and I’m going to be… a big nightmare for the two of them”.
“It sounds like Anaya won’t be playing the main villain, but she’ll definitely be a problem for Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor,” the site noted.
The image is from the trailer and the creepy masked Anaya is sure an intriguing charater.
Directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), Gadot follows her appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with a prequel set during World War I. Pine’s Steve Trevor will be her love interest as they star alongside Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope), David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy) and Saïd Taghmaoui.
The script is by Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg.
Wonder Woman will arrive in theaters nationwide on June 2nd, 2017.
