Edward Snowden denies claims of giving info to Russia, China
Despite media claims of the contrary, NSA whistleblower, Edward Snowden denied reports saying he never gave classified information to the governments of China or Russia.
In a Glenn Greenwald column today in The Guardian, Snowden says, “I never gave any information to either government, and they never took anything from my laptops.”
Greenwald writes, “The extraordinary claim that China had drained the contents of Snowden’s laptops first appeared in the New York Times in a June 24 article. The paper published the claim with no evidence and without any attribution to any identified sources.”
As to where the 30-year-old former NSA contractor may end up, a Reuters report says Greenwald stated that Snowden will likely accept asylum in Venezuela to escape prosecution in the United States.
However, that piece was published, Greenwald took to Twitter saying, “I didn’t say what’s in this headline – I have no idea where he’s going – just said V seemed most likely able to do it.”
Until that happens, if it does, Snowden will remain holed up in the Moscow airports “No man’s land” waiting…
