‘Eat Bulaga’ co-host, Valerie Weigmann, crowned Miss World Philippines 2014
Sunday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, 24-year-old regular co-host of GMA Network’s “Eat Bulaga”, Valerie Weigmann was crowned Miss World Philippines 2014 and gets the task of following last years winner of Miss World 2013, Megan Young, the first contestant from the Philippines to ever win the coveted beauty contest.

Weigmann will compete in the Miss World 2014 competition this December in London, England.
Weigmann bested 25 other beautiful, talented contestants to garner the crown. Rounding out the Top 5 in the competition is Lorraine Kendrickson (1st Princess), Nelda Ibe (2nd Princess), Nicole Donesa (3rd Princess), and Rachel Peters (4th Princess).
In the ever important Q & A portion of the contest, when asked why she felt she should win the title, Valerie responded, “I try to live my life in relation to others, by putting myself into other people’s shoes. I believe in the importance of empathy and compassion because I see if all of us can come together and work as one we can all be advocates of change. And I want to inspire and encourage everyone to take up a personal advocacy such as my own…because I believe it is truly in giving that makes us beautiful.”
The Philippines new set of beauty queens received the following cash prizes: Miss World Philippines 2014: P1 million; 1st Princess: P250,000; 2nd Princess: P200,000; 3rd Princess: P150,000; and 4th Princess: P100,000.
