Dwayne Johnson talks ‘Shazam’ Black Adam and ‘happen earlier’
While DC and Warner Bros. have scheduled the big film adaptation of Shazam for 2019, star Dwayne Johnson spoke out about the film, hinting that it may be sooner than expected.
The Rock was speaking to MTV Sunday at the 87th Academy Awards about playing the villain Black Adam.
“You know, it may happen a little earlier than what has been predicted. The script is coming in, it’s great. The support from the studio has been great. And it is just a great opportunity especially with Black Adam where you can take a guy that starts off as bad guy turns into an anti-hero. We can make him vicious; a little bit of winking charm.
Johnson’ s remark regarding “arriving sooner than expected” would more likley be connected to seeing the character in the first Justice League film, scheduled for 2017, a very exciting proposition for DC fans.
The rest of his comment fans have heard from Johnson before, and sounds good with respect to Black Adam.
Warner Bros. has barely revealed details for 2016’s Batman v Superman so they’re not likely to start making official comments on Shazam anytime soon.
Johnson arrives next in theaters with Furious 7 in April and then with Alexandra Daddario, Carla Gugino, Colton Haynes, Ioan Gruffudd and Paul Giamatti in the natural disaster action flick, San Andreas, arriveing in theaters on May 29, 2015.
That is worth mentioning as Johnson will certainly speak about the project again as he promotes the new films.
[…] isn’t the first time Johnson has said this. He said it a few months back too, so he obviously believes the Shazam script will be good enough to move up, or has heard that from […]
