After Dr. Craig Spencer tested positive for the virus and was quarantined at Bellevue Hospital, New York mayor Bill de Blasio and governor Andrew Cuomo noted Spencer’s recent whereabouts during a press conference: visiting the High Line, taking the subway, riding an Uber and going bowling in Williamsburg.

The Mayor and the Governor attempted to emphasize that transmission of the deadly virus was unlikley, even for those who came in contact with the doctor would be affected by the virus. This prompted punch lines from celebs: Mia Farrow, Jenny Slate and Billy Eichner.

“If the bowling ball had no symptoms you’re fine,” Mia Farrow tweeted on Oct. 23.

“@nytimes: Gov on NYC ebola: “The more facts you know, the less frightening the situation is.” These aren’t the droids you’re looking for,” Rob Lowe tweeted.

“Now we’re REALLY not bowling on Shabbos. #ebola nyc,” CNBC anchor Carl Quintanilla tweeted.
