Donald Trump attacks John Kasich’s ‘disgusting’ eating habits
GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump took aim at Ohio Gov. John Kasich over his eating habits during a campaign event this week, ahead of the Tuesday primaries.
“I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion,” Donald Trump said in Rhode Island yesterday at a campaign event, referring to his campaign opponent John Kasich and his eating habits.
“This guy takes a pancake and he’s shoving it in his mouth. It is disgusting,” he continued. “Do you want that for your president? I don’t think so, I don’t think so. Honestly it’s disgusting.”
Trump was referring to Kasich’s on camera interview Monday morning while he was eating pancakes in a Philadelphia diner.
The pro-Trump site Breitbart noted that “Campaigning in the Bronx, Kasich ate two plates of spaghetti bolognese, a sandwich with mozzarella, pickles, salami, provolone, and hot peppers before ordering a dish pasta fagioli. Later that afternoon he ate pizza live on camera to prove that he didn’t always eat it with a fork.”
Meanwhile the NY Daily News bashed Trump’s long history of eating on camera and in advertisements: a 1995 Pizza Hut commercial that showed him eating a slice of stuffed-crust pepperoni backward or for now-defunct brand of meat, Trump Steaks, posing for photos while forking bits of overcooked beef into his mouth.
“This is just a guy who’s a stubborn guy who eats like a slob and shouldn’t have press conferences while he’s stuffing stuff down his throat,” said a man who shared a pizza with Sarah Palin in front of dozens of reporters in 2011, noted the NY Daily News.
Kasich’s team hit back with “We were looking for some Trump steaks for the governor, but no one seems to sell them anymore,” the communications team wrote on Twitter.
