Director Zack Snyder talks about the first photo of Batman next to Superman
Director Zack Snyder has given fans a new update on the “Man of Steel” sequel, nicknamed “Batman vs Superman” for now, noting his excitement about seeing the pair together for the first time. Snyder even confesses in the Apr. 17 Forbes interview that he wants to share the pic with the Internet.
“Even just Batman and Superman standing next to each other… ” marvels Snyder. “It’s kind of epic. You do sort of sense the weight of the pop culture iconography jumping out of its skin when you’re standing there looking at the two of them and Wonder Woman.”
If Snyder sounds like a fan, he certainly is one. “It’s crazy, but it’s fun. I mean, I have the first photo, I’ve got it in my archive because I was like, ‘Okay, I better keep this, it’s gonna be worth something!'”
For fans, Snyder reminds them that the level of secrecy needs to be maintained for now. Even if Snyder wanted to, and it sounds like he does, he cannot share the photos yet.
“I’m like, ‘God, I want to send this to the Internet immediately,'” says Snyder, when talking about the new Batsuit. “But I know I’m not allowed to! I do value the sort of excitement of the way the film is revealed.”
Henry Cavill returns as Superman with Ben Affleck set to don the cowl as Batman. Gal Gadot (“Furious 6”) will play Wonder Woman against Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. Also cast are Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Callan Mulvey, Jeremy Irons, Tao Okamoto and TJ Norris.
Currently the “Man of Steel” sequel is set to open May 6, 2016.
