Few people know the story behind the 2008 McCain/Palin campaign better than ‘Game Change’ director Jay Roach. Jay explains why he believes Sarah Palin’s candidacy for the Vice Presidency inspired Donald Trump’s run for the White House. Plus, the ‘All the Way’ director notes the differences between Trump and LBJ.
Roach, the acclaimed director of ‘Recount,’ ‘Game Change,’ and HBO’s new LBJ docudrama ‘All the Way,’ opines why he feels Donald Trump is not the type of leader America should be turning to. Plus, he argues that the GOP is aggressively campaigning to “delegitimize government.”
Jay also compares the North Carolina “bathroom law” to the the civil rights battles of the 60s, saying “It’s a perpetual battle for civil rights, whatever class gets scapegoated as the problem class.”
