Director David Ayer says ‘Suicide Squad’ not spoiled by ‘set photos’
The Internet has blown up with set photo after set photo from the upcoming Warner Bros. DC movie Suicide Squad. In fact, there’ve been so many images leaked of Jared Leto’s Joker and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn from the film’s Toronto set that director David Ayer addresses the topic on his Twitter page.
“Well we survived the streets. Time to go dark now. Remember, only the tiniest glimpse has been exposed. Our surprises are intact.” –
Production has wrapped and Ayer will be going from gritty and grounded films like Fury and End of Watch to a blockbuster-style superhero film – fans seem nervous.
“I believe in old school filmmaking. Real stunts. Real people. Real places. It makes all the difference on the screen. Thank you #Toronto” –
Warner Bros responded to the set photos with a few official photos of their own and the “Batman sightings” haven’t shaken their approach to keeping their “secrets” secret.
Collider noted that even Christopher Nolan couldn’t hide his big third act fight sequence between Batman and Bane on The Dark Knight Rises and Marion Cotillard twist.
The movie also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc as well as Scott Eastwood, Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, and Ike Barinholtz.
Suicide Squad opens wide next summer on August 5, 2016.
