Diane Lane says ‘Justice League’ won’t be as good as ‘Avengers,’ her rep ‘responds’
During a recent interview Diane Lane talked about reprising her Man of Steel role as Martha Kent in Justice League, but appeared to be stating that the new film will not be anywhere near as good as The Avengers. At the time, it was suggested that her remarks were aimed at the first part of the question where she was asked for Justice League spoilers and things have now taken an unexpected turn.
The conversation, a video interview with Lane was followed with ComicBook.com reaching out to Lane’s representatives and published the response.
“Diane meant “sorry to disappoint” in reference to revealing anything concerning “Justice League” that is not already out in the public, and, was declining to comment on a film (Avengers) that she has not seen. She is thrilled to continue her role as Martha Kent, and appreciates your excitement for “Justice League”. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify this.”
The Justice League stars Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa).
Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role of Lex Luthor with Ciaran Hinds as the featured DC Comics bad guy: Steppenwolf.
Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Lane as Mrs. Kent will be part of the cast with (presumably) Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne. Newcomers are J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.
Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
The Man of Steel follow-up, rumored to have Matthew Vaughn (X-Men First Class) directing has not been officially set.
