Derrick Beers identified as man killed in Zephyrhills crash, Alex Hiscock seriously injured
Florida Highway Patrol has identified the Zephyrhills man killed after a pickup lost control and crashed into some trees off of U.S. 301 near SR-56 as Derrick Beers.
Beers, 23, died after the 1998 Chevrolet Model 1500 pickup hit the tree-line after two overcorrections, leaving thr road’s east shoulder and hitting a tree around 4:15 a.m. Sunday morning.
FHP identified the passenger as Alexander Hiscock, 25, who was seriously injured in the crash and transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he remained Sunday morning.
Beers was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
Troopers did reveal that alcohol was a factor and charges may follow.
