David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova join cast of ‘Gotham’ as Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle
Gotham, the prequel to the Batman universe have added a couple of key castmembers.
The Fox has confirmed that the part of the young Bruce Wayne has gone to David Mazouz (Touch, The Office, Criminal Minds), while newcomer Camren Bicondova has been cast in the role of the teenage future Catwoman, Selina Kyle.
Centering mostly in Gordon, Bruce is protected by Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) and Detective James Gordon, played by former star of The OC Ben McKenzie.
Selina, an orphan and pickpocket, is described as wholly unpredictable and dangerous when cornered.
Drew Powell has also been added to the show’s cast to play mobster Butch Gilzean in the upcoming series. Gilzean is the second-in-command to gangster boss Fish Mooney, played by Jada Pinkett Smith.
The series is created by The Mentalist‘s Bruno Heller.
IO9 have reported on a rumored script for pilot episode: Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) touring Gotham City with new recruit Gordon (McKenzie), investigating the recent murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
In addition to some on-the-nose introductions to Robin Taylor’s Oswald Cobblepot as “looking like a penguin,” we’re also treated to introductions of the Riddler, Catwoman and potentially Poison Ivy, described as to say “for everyone who even has a passing knowledge of Bat-lore, it’s like being bludgeoned to death with the Bat-signal.”
