‘Dark Knight Rises’ Update: Official Plotline, possible Knightfall ties

Warner Bros. recently released the official synopsis for their upcoming, highly anticipated and final entry in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy entitled The Dark Knight Rises.

Official plot line:

Every hero has a journey. Every journey has an end. Christopher Nolan will return to complete the epic Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight.

The speculation has been rife that director Christopher Nolan would draw upon elements of the classic comic book story arc Batman: KnightFall for his final Batman outing. Now, if recent reports coming out of the Los Angeles shoot are accurate, it would seem that Batman does indeed suffer some pretty serious injuries at the hands of his venom-enhanced foe, leaving Gotham’s protector out of commission – for a time, at least.

Christian Bale shot a scene featuring an ‘older-looking’ Bruce Wayne pulling up outside of a party in a snow-free Gotham City, before proceeding to limp into the building with the aid of a walking stick as reporters ask, “where you been hiding Mr. Wayne?”.

“I’m here. They’ve done a bunch of takes of Bale getting out of the lambo in front of press as they ask “mr Wayne where have you been” he’s limping and he has a cane. He ignores the reporters and walks inside. Some people here got great vids of it!”-RedSkull SHH

“Mr Wayne over here.. Where ya been hiding mr Wayne?” – Gotham Reporter

Below is the video: Bruce arrives in style, but injured, to a party of some kind and is greeted by reporters. Bruce is seen from behind around 0:34 using a cane and limping. At the begining Nolan is talking with Bale in the lambo.

Whether the Aventador will come with the usual array of toys found on the Batmobile, is still unknown; the Lamborghini supercar may just be a trophy in Bruce Wayne’s garage. If it does make its debut as Batman’s latest ride, expect plenty of exterior modifications, but the same throaty 6.5-liter V12 engine pushing out 700 HP 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm. Catwoman’s motorcycle will have to do better than the Aventador’s top speed of 217 mph.

The film stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Juno Temple, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman. The film hits theaters July 20, 2012 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
