‘Dark Knight Rises’ News: LEGO trailer, Catwoman with gun and more
Batman fans are obsessed with details surrounding “Dark Knight Rises”, this summer’s climax to the Christopher Nolan directed trilogy. This weekend was no exception as a LEGO version of the “Rises” trailer went viral on the Internet and other news is circulating at Batmobile speeds.
The LEGO re-enactment was created by ParanickFilmz. http://paranickfilmz.co.nr/ (with some nods to Adviceversas and JediMasterSoda.) The trailer has been the viral sensation all over the Internet this weekend!
Moreover, with the incredible merchandising campaign rolling, Cosmic Book News published a photo which features a photo of Catwoman – this time with a gun.
Rumors of Liam Neeson’s return to the Batman series was confirmed in a Warner Bros production note for “Wrath of the Titans”:
“Neeson next appears in Peter Berg’s action flick Battleship, and he also will be seen in Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated action thriller The Dark Knight Rises.”
A Neeson inspired Heroclix, thanks to CBM, pretty much locks the participation in the film. Cosmic Book News also has photos of the new Batman headknockers and standees.
The BBC had a great story of a panicked Gary Oldman, who momentarily thought he lost his “Rises” script:
“I was in a panic for 20 minutes. I thought, ‘Where the hell have I put it?’ It had my name on it. They would have killed me… I’d gone out for dinner and I had put it in the room between the mattress and the bed, because I couldn’t scrunch it into the safe. I was half-thinking about something else and shoved it there… (it would have been) the worst one to lose.”
A new addition to the “Rises” plot synopsis landed as well:
When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batmans legacy piece by piece.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Caine as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
