Daniel Craig confirms ‘Bond 25’ role, coy on Danny Boyle’s involvement

Daniel Craig is finally speaking freely about his return as James Bond confirming in remarks tweeted by the AP that he will be back for “Bond 25,” and that it will be his next project.

“We’ll see, we’ll see.” Craig said, when pressed about the role of Danny Boyle, seemingly hesitant to speak more extensively during the auction to sell his personal 2014 Aston Martin.

Boyle is writing the new Bond film and is also speculated to be directing the film after confirming he’s working on the script with Trainspotting screenwriter John Hodge. Filming is expected to begin towards the end of the year. By then, we should have a title, and further details of the movie’s cast.

The auction in New York later this month will provide proceeds from the car’s sale for The Opportunity Network, a non-profit organization that “provides pathways to career development” for young people.

“This Aston Martin Vanquish is a tour de force of automobile engineering and a distinct pleasure to drive,” Craig was quoted in Christie’s news release. “While I will miss it, I am keen to further the very important work of The Opportunity Network with its sale.”

Aston Martin produced only 100 of the Centenary Edition Vanquish cars as part of the automaker’s centennial celebration. Craig’s underwent additional customization as he worked with Aston’s chief creative officer Marek Reichman on additional features.

Christie’s expects the car, which has left-hand drive, to sell for $400,000 to $600,000.

Craig has been reluctant to return as Bond, being chased by the studio to do more: Craig offered $150 million for two more Bond films
