‘Dancing with the Stars’ 18 shocks double elimination, Jordin Sparks, Jason Derulo top backstage photos
The celebrities and pros on Dancing With the Stars knew there was one big twist on the way, but they didn’t know that the shake up would come just one week into the new season.
On Monday night, just as the cast set to kick off the second show of season 18, they learned that up was down and left was right — or it might as well be. With a surprise double-elimination, a format switcheroo and a suddenly random performance order, it wasn’t safe to assume anything about the long-running competition, writes TODAY.
“You could see on all of our faces that we were just as shocked as everyone in the room was that there was a double-elimination,” dance pro Sharna Burgess, who is paired with Olympic gold medal-winner Charlie White, told TODAY. “And halfway through the show one couple was gone. That was crazy.”
The Dancing With The Stars’ premiere was a celeb spotting frenzy, from super couple Jordan Sparks and fiancée Jason Derulo to Atlanta Housewives Nene Leakes and Buzz Aldrin.
