Connecticut Legislature hears firearms bills

From the CT State Constitution:
SEC. 15. Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state.

Here is a notice sent out by CT Citizens Defense League(CCDL):

CT Legislature – Legislative Hearing set for 02/28/2012

The Following Firearms Bills Have Been Scheduled For A Hearing In Public Safety and Security!

Feb. 28th at 11 am in Room 2E
Legislative Office Building
300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT

Anyone attending this hearing and wishing to testify should bring and submit 50 copies of their testimony.

S.B. No. 64 (RAISED) AN ACT CONCERNING REGULATION OF FIREARMS.
Here is the text of the Bill

To make revisions concerning the offenses of carrying a firearm and hunting while under the influence, the information required on a receipt for the delivery of a firearm, the fees for and issuance of a handgun eligibility certificate and the officials required to be notified of a gun show.

S.B. No. 196 (RAISED) AN ACT CONCERNING THE RECORDING OF PISTOL AND REVOLVER SALES IN A BOUND BOOK.
Here is the text of the Bill

To eliminate the requirement that vendors of handguns maintain a record of each sale of a pistol or revolver in a form prescribed by the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection and instead require the record be maintained in accordance with federal regulations that require firearm dealers to keep a similar “bound book” record of each receipt and disposition of a firearm.

To revise the procedures for the submission of handguns and discharged ammunition to the firearms evidence databank.

H.B. No. 5245 (RAISED) AN ACT CONCERNING THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR A TEMPORARY STATE PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER.

To specify uniform criteria for an application for a temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver.

H.B. No. 5246 (RAISED) AN ACT CONCERNING THE PERMIT TO SELL PISTOLS OR REVOLVERS
Here is the text of the Bill

To provide that a permit to sell pistols or revolvers authorizes the holder of such permit to also make sales at any meeting or exhibition of an organized collectors’ group or any gun show.
