Composer John Williams discusses returning for ‘Star Wars Episode VII’

Composer John Williams is the latest contributor to give his thoughts on the new Star Wars movies, and sounds open to the possibility of a return, should he be asked.

“Each time we play [the Star Wars theme], I’m reminded of the first time we played it decades ago,” says Williams to JWfan.com.

Williams appears to be primed to join the franchise for the new batch of films.

“Now we’re hearing of a new set of movies coming in 2015, 2016,” he continues. “So I need to make sure I’m still ready to go in a few years for what I hope would be continued work with George.”

Star Wars: Episode VII
made its first major casting announcement over the weekend, with the news that Harrison Ford has reportedly signed on to reprise his role as Han Solo.

Directed by J.J. Abrams from a script by Michael Arndt, Star Wars: Episode VII is slated to arrive in theaters in 2015.
