Colorado shooter identified as James Holmes
The Colorado shooter has been identified as 24-year-old James Holmes.
Holmes wore a gas mask, set off an unknown gas and fired into a crowded movie theater in suburban Denver at a midnight opening of the Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises,” killing 12 people and injuring at least 50 others, authorities said.

Holmes lives in North Aurora and police has searched Holmes’ car and his apartment following a statement he gave about having explosives. He remains in police custody. No motivation has been determined. CNN reports this morning that “items of interest” have been removed from his apartment.
Authorities report Holmes say’s he’s the Joker.
