CNN edits Clinton quotes on ‘bombing’ as ratings plummet, network loses to Fox, MSNBC

It’s a rough time at CNN as the network endures attacks from Republicans, the GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders supporters for editing Hillary Clinton’s remarks on the New Jersey “bombing.” The ““Clinton News Network” is losing to MSNBC in the ratings as Fox News won the ratings battle for the fifth consecutive week.

On social media, disgruntled Bernie Sanders supporters and others critical of the network have taken to referring to CNN as the “Clinton News Network” as they labeled Trump as insensitive for calling the attack in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York a “bombing,” despite Clinton referring to the incident as a “bombing” just moments before.

The network then repeated the stunt a second time, with host Jake Tapper slamming Trump for leaping to conclusions, again failing to play the clip where Clinton describes the incident as a “bombing”.

“CNN is disgusting and disgraceful,” said Trump, adding that he was treated more fairly by Fox News.

Fox News finished in first place for the fifth consecutive week, securing its place as the number one news network on cable, beating out CNN and MSNBC combined in both the number of total viewers and primetime viewers.

According to TheWrap, Fox News finished number one in the number of total day viewers for 11 of the past 12 weeks, including for the week of September 12. MSNBC and CNN failed to crack the Top 10 networks among total day viewers, with MSNBC drawing in 656,000 viewers and CNN with 651,000 compared to Fox’s 1.4 million. Combined, MSNBC and CNN garnered 1.3 million viewers.

“These people are the most dishonest people, CNN is so disgusting and dishonest, and I watch it, it’s so unfair, they call it the Clinton news network,” said Trump.

“She used the word ‘bombs’ also by the way….I was criticized for calling it correctly – what I said was exactly correct,” he added.
