Christopher Dorner support grows as fugitive officially charged with murder
Christopher Dorner, the fugitive ex-Los Angeles police officer, was charged Monday with murdering a Riverside officer. Dorner has garnered increasing support online from those sympathizing with his motives,
One Facebook page has gone as far as proclaiming Dorner for President. On another page entitled, “We are all Chris Dorner,” someone posted, “Yes, this is war.”
Now over 3,000 Facebook users “like” another page entitled “I support Christopher Jordan Dorner.”
“We propose electing a man who could no longer sit idly by and watch as malicious tyrants abuse the innocent,” the site says.
Riverside County District Attorney Paul Zellerbach also charged Dorner with the attempted murder of another Riverside officer and two Los Angeles Police Department officers. The charges would make 33-year-old Dorner eligible for the death penalty.
Dorner is also linked to the killings of a former LAPD captain’s daughter and her fiance in Irvine the previous weekend. Randal Quan represented Dorner during his police department hearings and appears to be at the epicenter of Dorner’s rage. Michelle Quan and her fiance Keith Lawrence were found dead in a parking lot. The 33-year-old revenge-driven ex-cop is still atlarge as of early Tuesday, despite a massive manhunt from one end of California to the other, and heightened traffic at crossings along the border with Mexico.
Dorner was purchasing scuba equipment two days prior to the beginning of the attacks
Authorities said they have now obtained a no-bail arrest warrant, which allows Dorner to be apprehended anywhere.
More than 700 tips spurred by a $1 million reward offered Sunday are being investigated as part of the manhunt, but false sightings have proven to be the norm in recent days.
