Christopher Dorner manifesto reveals love of leftists, Anderson Cooper, Michelle Obama and ‘The Walking Dead’

Fugitive ex-cop Christopher Dorner, wanted in connection with a deadly shooting rampage in Southern California, wrote a rambling manifesto referencing a number of TV hosts and journalists.

Chris Dorner LA police uniform photo“Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Pat Harvey, Brian Williams, Soledad Obrien, Wolf Blitzer, Meredith Viera, Tavis Smiley, and Anderson Cooper, keep up the great work and follow Cronkite’s lead. I hold many of you in the same regard as Tom Brokaw and the late Peter Jennings. Cooper, stop nagging and berating your guest, they’re your (guest). Mr. Scarborough, we met at McGuire’s pub in P-cola in 2002 when I was stationed there. It was an honor conversing with you about politics, family, and life.

“Willie Geist, you’re a talented and charismatic journalist. Stop with all the talk show shenanigans and get back to your core of reporting. Your future is brighter than most.

“Revoke the citizenship of Fareed Zakaria and deport him. I’ve never heard a positive word about America or its interest from his mouth, ever. On the same day, give Piers Morgan an indefinite resident alien and Visa card.”

The lengthy online manifesto he called his “Last resort,” Dorner details the events that led to his termination from the Los Angeles Police Department and lists a group of people he held responsible for his dismissal. There are ramblings of advice and admiration sprinkled in as well.

“Off the record, I love your new bangs, Mrs. Obama. A woman whose professional and educational accomplishments are second to none when compared to recent First wives.”

The murderer appears to be a fan of the “Hangover” fans and AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”

“It’s kind of sad I won’t be around to view and enjoy The Hangover III. What an awesome trilogy. Todd Phillips, don’t make anymore Hangovers after the third, takes away the originality of its foundation…”World War Z looks good and The Walking Dead season 3 (second half) looked intriguing. Damn, gonna miss Shark week.”

Critics have targeted the press for not revealing the details.

“Had the killer instead praised Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, President George W. Bush, Wayne LaPierre, the NRA, and Proposition 8, and slammed the collection of journalists that he praised, perhaps singling out Piers Morgan for particular attention on the basis of his gun-control advocacy, what do you think the media’s reaction would have been?” – Charles Cooke NRO

Dorner actually praises President Bush and John McCain in the manifesto, but Cooke’s point of omission is noteworthy for the media bashers.

Maybe read it a third time, Austin. You can’t just go by name-dropping; sometimes he’s critical of those that are supposedly “leftist” (Harvey, of course; Scarborough–no). I read his positions as somewhat moderate to moderate-left, not simply “lefty”.
And I disagree with dismissing so easily the high praise he offers up to Republicans–especially GHW Bush–as RINO. They are only considered moderate today because Republicans have moved so far to the right that they’ve fallen off the Darthmouth chasing after tea.

Wow, the irony of this. Did you guys even read the manifesto? Because he did actually praise G.W. Bush and a number of other conservatives/republicans.

But please, do not let facts distract you from your polemics.

Maybe read it one more time, Mark.

His praise was for George H.W. Bush (Bush Senior, the 41st president) and not “G.W. Bush”. While the manifesto did contain a few conservative figures, they would typically be considered centrist or RINO figures (i.e Chris Christie and Jon Huntsman). Dorner did profess many moderate ideals, although he predominantly praised liberal politicians, actors and commentators (roughly 4 to 1).
