Christoph Waltz, Rebecca Hall may be joining ‘Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales’
The fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film is moving ahead, somewhat delayed from earlier reports, but Johnny Depp is set to reprise his popular role as Jack Sparrow and Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg will be heading the project.
Daily Mail is reporting the latest news that Keith Richards will indeed return and that Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) and Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3) may be joining the cast.
The outing will center on the hunt for The Trident, which Richard’s Captain Teague “holds valuable information to” and the villain is Captain Brand, a ghost who is seeking revenge against Jack.
Waltz is being sought as Brand with Hall possibly the next love interest for Sparrow. The Mail reports citing script notes they received, Carina Smyth is Barbossa’s daughter and “She falls for Jack as their adventures keep them together, but he rebuffs her advances in fear of angering Barbossa.”
Fans can rest assured that Geoffrey Rush will return as Barbossa.
Other details involve witchcraft, with the witches playing a key role in the film. Disney is seeking a pair of Brits to create the “royal family” subplot held by Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley.
Rebecca Hall may be cast in either role, nothing is set yet, but expect news to drop even though the film will not arrive until summer 2016.
