Christian artists Tenth Avenue North reach out to Rock the Universe fans with songs of healing, the struggle and God’s grace

The Christian music band Tenth Avenue North took the stage at 2013’s Rock the Universe and delivered an emotional set full of praise and encouragement for the fans packed into Universal Studios.

Beginning with “Shadow” lead singer Mike Donehey got right to business singing: “My heart is an ocean raging/And Your grace is all that keeps me from drowning/My mind creates deceptions/So I cling the treasure sinking” before the chorus “All that I run to, all that I cling to/Everything seems to only slip through my hands”

“I don’t know the song, but I love the music,” said Reagan, a 21-year-old first timer at RTU who enjoyed the set by Tenth.

“…You’re not far from grace/you’re not too far from grace” from their hit song “Strong Enough to Save” cut through the rain as the power of spirit moved music captivated the audience.

This was a passionate crowd who enjoyed the jokes from Donehey who proclaimed “Now all of the sinners!” and his message of reality as an intro to their song “The Struggle”: “I’m tired of people trying to act like they have it all together.”

Tenth Avenue North is one of the most personal Christian bands with a very personal style to reach out to their audience. Discussing a battle with pain killers and asking his Mom for donuts may seem frivolous on the surface, but when the testimony is couple with their song “Healing Begins” – the spirit fills in the gap for an amazing experience.

Check out Tenth Avenue North’s website here and get information/tour dates as they are set to join the West Coast leg of Winter Jam.

“Soaked from head to toe. What’s rain? What’s sweat? Who even knows anymore? But one thing I do know, that Universe just got rocked! Thanks for an amazing night in the rain Orlando. Your passion moved me.” – Mike Donehey Instragram
