Chris Evans featured in new ‘Captain America The Winter Soldier’ poster, set in modern day
Captain America: The Winter Soldier has released a new poster online, on Facebook to be more specific, featuring Steve Rogers looking down on modern-day Washington from way up in the air.
The new image features Chris Evans’ Cap in the present day setting up the storyline of his struggles to come to terms with his new life as a man out of time.
Co-star Scarlett Johannson confirmed that Winter Soldier picks up two years after the battle of New York and is set in today’s time.
“This film is in real time,” revealed Johansson. “It’s been two years since [the characters] appeared, and now both are agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fighting in the streets. We are not superheroes flying side by side. They help each other because we are fighting in a similar way. It’s a working relationship.”
S.H.I.E.L.D.’s ongoing presence in the new film is also more center stage by the presence of the Helicarrier, evidence of just how serious a threat is posed by the Winter Soldier.
Winter Soldier be played by Sebastian Stan, the reanimated Bucky Barnes, newly transformed into a kind of cyborg assassin by shadowy Russian forces.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will open in theaters April 4, 2014.
