Charles Martinez surrenders to police in double murder case, Lindsay Nicole Greene identified as one victim
The person of interest in the double homicide of two Florida women turned himself in to authorities Friday afternoon.
Charles Martinez, age 24, lived near the two victims who were found dead in their Brandon, Florida townhouse.
According to deputies, Martinez was last seen with the two murder victims, two young women- one identified as 25-year-old Lindsay Nicole Greene.
The pair was found dead inside the home from “homicidal violence” and that the fire was started to cover up the crime, describing the inside as having “major fire damages.”
“It’s a mess inside,” Hillsborough County Sheriff’s David Gee said.
“We’re very fortunate we didn’t have a blaze that involved the entire complex,” Gee added. “The fire never engulfed the building. It just burned inside. There’s some furniture that burned and things like that, so it could have smoldered for a long time.”
“It was without question a double homicide,” officials confirmed.
Greene’s neighbors said Martinez was a frequent visitor, and that he sometimes stayed with Greene for several days at a time.
Martinez, who has a lengthy criminal record, has warrants from a previous case for home invasion robbery and false imprisonment.
