Central New York men, Charles Bliss and Christopher Goulette, charged with the theft of 19 guns
Two men have been charged with the late November residential burglary of a Baldwinsville home where several long guns were stolen, according to an Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office new release Dec. 5.
Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh says detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Burglary Investigation Unit charged 41-year-old Charles Bliss of Cicero and 26-year-old Christopher Goulette of Baldwinsville with multiple charges to include burglary in the 2nd degree, grand larceny in the 2nd degree and grand larceny in the 4th degree in connection with the Nov. 22 burglary, in which the duo drove off with a gun safe containing eighteen long guns and a coin collection from the residence on Carousel Lane.
Onondaga County Sheriffs Office, in collaboration with Baldwinsville Police Department, were able to track down and connect Bliss and Goulette to the crime.
A third person, 44-year-old Christopher Monteleone was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the 2nd degree, as Monteleone harbored the stolen gun safe at his place.
In addition to the recovery of the 18 stolen guns from this burglary, Sheriff Dept. personnel also recovered a stolen AR-10 assault rifle that was taken during a separate burglary.
Just two months ago, Bliss was charged with breaking into the four-bay garage in Pompey and intentionally setting it on fire.
According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, Bliss and Goulette are currently being held without bail at the Onondaga County Justice Center after being arraigned in the Village of Baldwinsville Court.
