Carrie Fisher confirms ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ appearance, getting into shape, like ‘being bought by Disney’
Disney acquired Lucasfilm in the late 2012, put Lucasilm’s future under the direction of President Kathleen Kennedy to get new films in theaters, based on the continuation of the story created by George Lucas, meaning familiar universe, familiar timeline and familiar characters.
Carrie Fisher is one of the original key figures, which are all rumored to be returning for the new film Star Wars Episode VII.
“I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before,” Fisher reportedly said this weekend at Canada’s Calgary Comic Expo.
“I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”
Fisher recounted some highlights from her Princess Leia days: kissing Han Solo and killing Jabba the Hutt.
“Here’s the thing: There’s a difference between screen kissing and life kissing,” she says. “Harrison doesn’t like screen kissing. I believe one time he put an oyster in his mouth. Not with me, he just told me about that so I’d behave myself. So, not so great onscreen. But we were playing spin-the-bottle and he was better.”
“What was his name? Jabba the Hut? I always get his name mixed up with other boyfriends,” she said joking about the giant slug-like character. “Oh God, I loved doing that. You know, they ridiculously asked me if I wanted a stunt double to kill Jabba the Hut. Can you imagine? I got to saw that neck off, it was really, really fun and one of the highlights of my career.”
The new film arrives in theaters in 2015, directed by JJ Abrams.

Mark Hamill confirmed that he’s in talks to reprise his role as Luke Skywalker and Harrison Ford has already reportedly signed to return as Han Solo. And if there’s a Han Solo, there’s a Princess Leia, and that holds true when the Star Wars saga returns in 2015 with Episode VII.
