Building 429’s Jason Roy says ‘Live the Journey’ is personal

During a talk with Jason Roy of Building 429 to promote their new album “Live the Journey,” the band’s frontman confessed that the new album is “not like other Building 429” music and is “real personal.”

“I have trouble staying in the moment and not thinking about tomorrow,” Roy explained to Dispatch Radio. “The song on the album in ‘The Journey’ which was inspired by my son…thinking you do everything right as a Dad and then he becomes a teenager and has these battles….depression…pain…difficulties and you ask what you did wrong? I thought I did the right thing. Gave him the best things…and yet he’s having trials.

“‘The Journey is the essence of walking through that…finding God in the struggle,” Jason continued.

Diving deeper into the emotional themes of album, Roy pointed to his own struggles: “I realized I don’t point to my successes…things I’ve succeeded at when I talk with someone, pray with someone or try to help. No, it’s always my failure…my problems and getting through that.”

After three years in the making “Live the Journey” arrives September 7th, so visit their site and pre-order your copy.
