Buddhist man pulls out crossbow during road rage incident
A Philadelphia man took road rage to a whole new level when he pulled a crossbow on another driver during Tuesday rush hour.
According to police, Kenneth Butterworth, 45, began driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic when another driver changed lanes .
The driver, whose name was not released, then honked his horn.
When the driver of the other vehicle got in front of Butterworth’s Dodge Stratus, Butterworth changed lanes and pulled out a crossbow and pointed it at him.
Police say Butterworth twice pulled a crossbow during a road-rage incident in Mayfair on Tuesday night described himself on his Facebook page as a Buddhist who “holds tolerance in great importance.”
According to police, Butterworth then pulled into the left lane, sped up and pointed a crossbow at the other driver.
That driver called police and followed Butterworth into the parking lot of a ShopRite. Butterworth got out of his car and again leveled the crossbow at the motorist, then got back in and fled, police said.
Butterworth’s Facebook page said he is a socialist Buddhist, plans to attend college next semester to study behavioral health and enjoys heavy-metal music and classical violin.
